As an Edinburgh College student you can access all four College libraries across our campuses – Granton Library, Milton Road Library, Sighthill Library and a small library space at Midlothian campus.
In addition to our books, magazines and DVDs, our libraries have:
- A variety of both open access and bookable study spaces
- Designated spaces for individual study and group study
- Computer access (Macs and PCs)
- Photocopying and printing facilities
- Laptops are also available to borrow within the libraries or you can bring your own device.

Using the Library
We ask that all library users adhere to the following guidelines for using our libraries. These ensure a pleasant and respectful study experience for all.
- Always treat library users and library staff with respect
- Maintain a quiet environment in all library spaces
- Do not eat, drink, or make phone calls within library spaces
- To work as a group, visit a library service desk to book a group-work space
- All borrowed items must be returned by the return date, if you are unable to do this please contact us as soon as you are able to
- Always show your identification, or give your name name and course if you are asked to by library staff
- Bullying, harassment, discrimination, and other forms of unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated
Sighthill is a membership library, the library assistant team will ask you to agree to the Library Regulations to join this library

Sighthill Campus Library
Sighthill Library is located on the second floor of Sighthill Campus.
As you exit the lifts on the second floor, turn left to the end of the corridor, then turn left again, through the double doors for the library entrance.
The library space contains:
- Both open access and bookable study spaces
- Designated spaces for individual study and group study
- Computer access (3 Macs and 30 PCs) additional computer access is available in the Mezzanine
- Photocopying and printing facilities
- Laptops which are available to borrow within the libraries.

Monday: 08.30-16.30
Tuesday – Thursday: 08:30-17.00
Friday: 08.30-16.00



Granton Campus Library
Granton Library is located on the first floor of Granton Campus.
The entrance can be found in the middle of the corridor on the right.
The library space contains:
- Both open access and bookable study spaces
- Designated spaces for individual study and group study
- Computer access (10 PCs) additional computer access is available in the ICT Zone
- Photocopying and printing facilities
- Laptops which are available to borrow within the libraries
Opening Hours:
Monday: 08.30-16.30
Tuesday – Thursday: 08:30-17.00
Friday: 08.30-16.00



Milton Road Library
Milton Road Library is located on the first floor of Milton Road Campus. The central stairwell will take you to the library entrance.
The library space contains:
- Both open access and bookable study spaces
- Designated spaces for individual study and group study
- Computer access (44 PCs)
- Photocopying and printing facilities
- Laptops which are available to borrow within the library

Monday -Thursday: 08.30-16:30
Friday: 08.30-16.00



Midlothian Library
Midlothian Library is located on the first floor of Midlothian Campus.
The entrance can be found at the top of the main stairwell on the right.
The library space contains:
- Open access study spaces
- Computer access in the Learner Base (20 PCs) which is next to the library
- Photocopying and printing facilities

Monday: 08:30-16.00
Tuesday – Thursday: 08:30-16.30
Friday: 08.30-16.00




Borrowing
At any one time, you can borrow:
- 6 Books – On loan for 3 weeks
- 4 Magazines – On loan for 1 week
- 3 DVDs – On loan for 1 week
To borrow an item, take it to a member of our Library Assistant team at a library service desk. The Library Assistant then will ask for your student card or your Edinburgh College ID number.
